2. Diameter of blank

As long as the size of the blank sheet can reach the size of the spinning forming, the diameter of the blank should be reduced as much as possible, This can reduce the trimming allowance, shorten the processing time and cost, and at the same time, the cost of the material sheet will also be reduced.

3. The tool grains are reused

Metal spinning requires to use the turning tools for edge and bottom cutting. Usually, tool grains are used to replace quickly when it is worn and avoid affecting production efficiency. The cost of tool grains is still relatively high, especially for stainless steel tool grains and precision turning tool grains for molds of heating treatment.

After the tool grains use a period of time, such as the tool nose is broken or worn and make it can’t work any more, you can keep it and use its edge to trim the flange. You can view it in the following image, it is a better way to improve the tool grain utilization rate and save the cost.

4. The mandrel are reused

After the market sales of many spun products cease, the mandrel become useless. For these scrapped mandrel, they can be reprocessed with a CNC spinning machine. After being re-turning, the molds can be used again.

 

5. Selection and usage methods of hydroforming oil

Different viscosities of hydroforming oil (deep drawing oil ) can be selected for metal spinning, dilute hydroforming oil can be used in aluminum, copper and brass spinning, it is easy to clean when finish spinning. Dense hydroforming oil can be used in stainless steel and harder metal spinning, These hard metals are prone to generating high temperatures during spinning and extrusion deformation. Dilute hydroforming oil is easy to being flung out when work piece with high temperature and spinning. So using dense hydroforming oil can save the cost.

 

The hydroforming oil is usually applied to the roller and the mandrel with a brush, It is very difficult for humans to control the amount of oil used. Therefore, in mass production, automatic oil spraying devices are used to set the oil spraying program and spray oil onto the work piece at regular intervals. It can control the amount of stretching oil used.

 

6. Control of the waste products rate

Metal spinning processing needs to be carried out in accordance with the customer's drawings and requirements. The main controls include dimensional accuracy, thickness and appearance control. Usually, once the CNC spinning program and the gap value are set, there will be no problems with the spun products.

 

During the spinning process, the deformation of the spun product generates heat, which causes the mold and roller to heat up and expand. The gap between mandrel and roller will make the work piece thin. So it needs to control the temperature or adjust the gap in the production. On the other hand, rollers are easy to wear in stainless steel or hard metal spinning, it needs to be re-polished or replaced with a new smooth one for a period of time.

 

7. Spin forming speed> 

The speed of spinning processing is mainly related to tool path drawing and the setting of parameters>. 8. Choose the right CNC metal spinning machine>
