The funnel is a commonly used accessory in industry. The main methods are conical rolling and metal spinning.

Traditionally funnels are made by rolling cones and circles to form the cylinder body, then welded into a funnel.

The pores and slag inclusions during welding can easily lead to poor air tightness of the welding funnel.
Traditional funnels are all made up of multiple components joined together, so the material cost is higher.
The parts need to go through three processes: rolling into a circle, welding and grinding the weld seams, which incurs higher processing costs.
During welding, high temperatures are generated. The thickness of the metal at the welding position is generally harder than that at the non-welded area, and the cost of grinding the weld seam is relatively high.
Welding stress can cause local deformation at the welding position, which appears protruding from the outside. According to the general polishing method, first, we need to manually grind and smooth the weld seam. Second, place the funnel into the automatic machine for grinding and polishing.
When the polishing movement reaches the welding position, since the welding position is concave, the polishing wheel cannot make complete and effective contact with the workpiece, and it is difficult to grind the weld seam position smooth and flat.

How to settle polishing problem of funnel
To solve the problem of polishing the weld seam, a simple shaping mold can be made and placed inside the weld seam. Then a hammer or a bending knife can be used to flatten the weld seam on the outside.

The spinning funnel is formed by rolling a round sheet through roller, with no welding or splicing throughout the process.
The traditional funnel has poor air tightness due to welding. However, the one-piece spinning molding without welding.
The traditional welded funnel has a relatively brittle weld seam due to welding stress. However, after cold extrusion in spinning, the grains are refined and the strength is significantly enhanced.
The weld seam of the welding funnel is uneven, with residual welding slag. Liquid, powder and oil residue are very likely to adhere to the wall and remain. The inner wall of the metal spinning is smooth, allowing fluids and particles to fall smoothly, reducing material adhesion and clogging caused by lumps.
The CNC spinning forming features precise dimensions, high coaxiality of the diameter and the discharge nozzle, and a tight fit between the discharge pipe and the bottle mouth, making it less likely to spill during filling. The size deviation of the hand-welded funnel is large, the tube opening is elliptical, and the gap between the container is large, which is prone to overflow.

The maximum funnel diameter of Dingchuang's spinning machine can be processed to 1.2 meters. The funnel spinning process has no weld seams and is easier to polish.
The molds of the funnel are all processed from Cr12mov steel and hardened to HRC58 through heat treatment. There are no pressure marks, scratches or sand holes inside the spinning funnel.

5-axis automatic laser welding is more stable, with smooth weld seams and no gas holes or sand holes during welding.

Our polishing equipment can polish up to a diameter of 1.5 meters at most. The height can be polished to 1.5 meters.
